Sash and Casement Windows
format_quote"A great service from a company with integrity."- Scott Smith
At John McLeods' our Sash & Casement windows are manufactured to the highest standards.
Sash windows came into prominence in the Georgian era (though they were first introduced much earlier), and they remained popular well into Victorian times. Sash windows consist of one or more panels, or sashes, which slide atop one another to create openings. Most commonly, these panels move vertically. Vertically-opening sash windows are assisted by balancing weights, and pulleys which are hidden within the window frame and assist with opening the window. They also allow the sash to stay in position once the window is opened.
Any style of this window can be manufactured including;
- single glazed
- double glazed
- hardwood
- softwood cords or chains
- face puttied or bevelled timber glazing bead to look exactly like putty.
This is our signature window, by word of mouth it has taken us the length and breadth of Scotland and beyond.
